When I go to get my haircut there are usually only two things one can read....styling mags or people....or women fashion mags. I skim through People. Big whoop. :heheh:

As far as people at work? It's really true...the couple AI people I know really get into some heavy detail. They look at me as crazy as I probably look at them for not knowing A Day In The Life as a song by the Beatles. :heheh:

Thanks Griswold lol

Come on their fun mindless literature..I called the ***** novels :heheh:

in the song description she mentions something about his playing pool with a trashy woman, getting drunk on cheap booze and really makes him look like a moron. I question why someone as bright and sweet as she is {she is isn;t she?} would be with a guy like that...it makes no sense?

Funny, now you drop the term redneck moron, all of a sudden...

now, it's just ''moron''...

interesting...

So anyway, it must be MORE than just magazines your reading about Carrie Underwood, unless, you can hear her sing lyrics through a magazine...

and you must read a lot of junk magazines too...

because again, you seem to know waaay too much about American Idol - more than the average person, who doesn't like American Idol....

People I know, in and out of work, know I'm not a fan of ''American Idol'' so they don't bother talking to me about A.I. - and if they start talking about ''AI''? - I just shut them off or leave...it's that simple.Astrid, you should try that sometimes, instead of using the lame excuse you are being force-fed information about ''American Idol''. There should be no excuses.

lSeems like YOUR stereotyping Groovy..because I never said any of this//There are rednecks in Mass to you know
What I define as a redneck is someone who thinks narrowminded actually, one demensional and is usual very racist and opinionated about it. Caveman .

Well, that what you sounded like... narrow minded, one-dimensional, opinionated, judgemental and snobbish, like your better than other people.

You make an ignorant statement, with your ''redneck moron'' comment. When people hear the word ''redneck'' people usually never think of people from Massachusetts, when I hear the word ''redneck, especially when we're talking about a country music star, like we are here. It's a pretty narrow minded statement.
Your pretty long winded

Actually, I was just trying to keep up with YOUR post. It was so long winded, there was a lot to reply to.

I don't dislike her?I don't listen to that kinda music.
I'm glad you like her..she needs people like you to buy her records lol

Me buy her records?...um...I told you and I quote, ''I'm not a Carrie Underwood fan, but have seen and heard her sing, she has a good voice and is a beautiful women...I can see why other women would be jealous of that talented hot young thing.''

Groovy , I'm not judging anyone on looks..I'm judging on talent..

really?...let's take a look about what you said about her looks

talk to me when Carrie Underwood is fat and isn't so young..if she's still selling out concert...I'll eat my words :)

that sounds like your judging her on her looks to me.

I don't like the show, I have a right to dislike it. Just as you have a right to dislike Queen with the venom you usually do..

Venom is a poison....so, what are you trying to say, Astrid?

I don't like Queen, so I'm full of venom?

There you go again....

Where I go and get my haircut, I just thumb through the men's magazines, I'm not there waiting there long enough to read whole articles....especially about American Idol.

:heheh:

Why would anyone read stories about ''American Idol'', when they hate the show, like Astrid?

that's my point.

Just doesn't make any sense.

That's all.

This is just my humble opinion but I think these ladies are far worse than Celine Dion:

Miley Cyrus
Kylie Minogue
Britney Spears
Whitney Houston

Whitney had one of the strongest female voices before she fell from grace. Her career was very distinguished. Today, I dont think I can say that, but I still think she is BETTER than Celine.

My vote goes to Mariah. She has a beautiful voice but doesn't put it to good use, such a waste of talent, IMO.

All I can say is that I am an American Idol fan and proud of it. That being said I don't like every Jo Blo that comes from the show and I think that using Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood are bad examples because not only are they talented but they have already showed more longevity than most non AI produced pop stars. I think using Ruben Studdard or Taylor Hicks would be better examples. Anyway, also to say that ticket sales are an example for anyone's talent is kind of silly. Tons of people are struggling with ticket sales now and if anything it proves as anything that pop is a fickle market.

For the examples used, Kelly is an exemplary pop stars with a great set of pipes. She does a lot more songwriting than most pop stars and she has gumption. She's fought to create material that she believed in until her record company seceded. This could have ruined her career but she still hasn't had a true flop yet. She's a true fan of the classic singers and songwriters of past decades as well as rock music itself. As someone who's kept a closer eye on her as an artist I can hear it in her material.

I have a thread of her here:

http://www.classicrockforums.com/forum/f20/official-kelly-clarkson-thread-7433/

As for Carrie, like Groovy I'm not a fan per say but she's more than talented vocally. I love her I'll Stand By You cover.

I'll Stand By You

My favorite AI contestant is a recent one, Crystal Bowersox. She seems as pure of an artist as I've ever heard.

Here's a link to her thread. Strongly Recommended!

This is true...not just in the pop market...

I've seen some ticket prices reduced a week before the show, due to slow sales...

Classic rock bands and modern rock bands.

Not sticking up for Kelly Clarkson , but she didn't make it on her looks or the slut factor...

She more had the average girl next store look, not totally hot or a total dog....she was cute...and cuteness is a dime a dozen, and cuteness can only take you so far. I doubt Kelly Clarkson made it on her looks.

Kinda refreshing to see Kelly Clarkson not turn into a slutty bimbo just to sell albums...

unless I missed something.

:heheh:

No I'd say you are right Groovy! If she continues to have a career I believe it definitely proves that not only is she determined but I dare say it might also mean she has talent considering her original audience is growing up. I know I'm curious to she what her future work entails. I'm hoping it leans towards her third album because there is a lot of subtle, more singer songwriter songs in the vein of Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, etc. I like to see an artist grow and develop there craft. :)
