^^It is funny Yes is a polarizing band, people either really like them...(Like myself), or can't stand them...(Like you), there doesn't seem to be many people who are on the fence.

I saw them live on the Tormato tour, the original line-up with the exception of Bill Bruford, Alan White was on drums, a great show and I will never forget it.

Four dudes calling themselves ''Queen''

When I was a kid, I thought it was wierd, and still today I think it's weird.

It's no weirder than The Mothers of Invention not having wombs, Alice Cooper (back in the day) being five guys, or Prince not actually being a prince anywhere.

Yes
The Nice
Take That

Talk about unimaginative... and wetter than a soggy lettuce leaf.

Do you suppose there is a band somewhere named "No" in response to Yes?

There was a country/rock band in the 70's named Snail. Not the worst band name ever, but certainly a strange one.

I may or may not have this album. :wtf:

Can't argue with that.

Everyone knows those bands names were more shock value, but with Queen it was more of a statement.

Anyway, I agree with you about Prince - he's not a prince of anywhere.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken I heard Frank say in an interview once that the Mothers was supposed to be short for Mother****ers but the record company made him change it. So out of necessity they became the Mothers of Invention.

Also Queen was not named out of any sort of statement. In Freddie's own words: "I thought up the name Queen. It's just a name, but it's very regal obviously, and it sounds splendid. It's a strong name, very universal and immediate. It had a lot of visual potential and was open to all sorts of interpretations. I was certainly aware of gay connotations, but that was just one facet of it."
