There is just so many...Damin Eih, A.l.k & Brother Clark - Never Mind is rather an amazing album. Todd Clark ...utterly strange stuff. I really like the one on one demented mind in musical pictures thing. :grinthumb

I can totally relate to some the esoteric mentions like RBS&TSCB. I LOVED him ever since I first heard Boogie To You Puke on a radio program back when it came out. That album of course is now out on Wounded Bird, but I am not big fan of their releases. Kind of muddy sounding. Norton Buffalo were great. I have several of their albums on vinyl, but I don't remember too much about one from the other. I remember one had a dark green cover scheme.

That name is so cool that you mentioned from the one NB. It seems like I would remember having that one because that name is so picturesque.

BTW, all Egg titles our out on disc. The first one is my favorite.

One of my favorite artists that I always enjoy getting into from time to time is Niel Merryweather. Both Kryptonite and Space Rangers are both excellent records.

God, there are just so many wonderful and meaningfully great esoteric rock albums. Remember a group called Good Thunder?

I think the best unsung album of, 1973 anyways, is Captain Beyond s/t. That album speaks volumes to me from start to finish.

Still in yet, when you ask for something that no one else gets into, that's tough. I don't think I can honestly fill that request. Thank you for letting me come through my mind to try though.

I could name at least a dozen unknown bands I used to play on the radio who I particularly enjoy. However, nobody here would have heard of any of them. Not to mention I doubt their stuff is on YouTube.

The lobby of the Ritz hotel.
It used to be that I'd be the only Sparks fan in certain places (and then I guess a bunch of English/German/Norwegian people gravitated toward me and that changed quickly - maybe Americans are just lame).

Though I've noticed that there are even less fans of Ric Ocasek. And I'm totally cool with that. ;D

Seems like I'm the only fan of a number of different artists (particularly regionally) but one man that comes to mind that I simply adore is someone that most people who knows him seem to find irritating and awful :(....

Maureen (Moe) Tucker... former Velvet Underground drummer.

You're not alone, Mr. Shadow, I'm a fan of hers as well (and lots of my friends are too).

I actually got to meet her once, and she was incredibly nice.

She did a solo tour in 1995 and I saw the last two shows on the tour. She had Sterling Morrison (who played guitar in the VU) in her band on that tour!

I saw them in Atlanta, but for some reason a friend of mine who really wanted to see them couldn't make it to that show. She was playing in Athens the next night, which is about an hour drive. He talked me into going with him (which was easy, since her Atlanta show was smokin').

Boy, am I glad I went. It was the very last show of the tour, and for their encore, they did about a 20 minute 'Bo Diddley' jam, with Moe's kids playing percussion too! It was great.

After the show, it was pretty late and I wanted to head back to Atlanta, but my buddy is a very obsessive record collector, and he brought a stack of stuff he wanted to get signed. So we sat around for a while after the place had cleared out. Finally somebody asked us why we were still there, and my friend told him he had some things he wanted to get signed.

So the guy said something like "No problem", and took us into a little room backstage. There the whole band was, and Moe's kids, all partying and chilling out. They welcomed us and were all super nice to us.

I spent about half an hour talking to Sterling, just me and him! I still can't quite believe that. I got him and Moe to sign my cd cover for the first VU album, which I had brought along. The VU's been one of my very favorite bands since I first discovered them back in 1980.

Sterling passed away about 5 or 6 months later. Man, am I glad I went to that Athens show with my buddy.

AS for an artist that only I seem to like? Hmmm, Steven Jesse Bernstein comes to mind. (lyrics NSFW)

I love Hackamore Brick and their one and only album One Kiss Leads to Another. I'd be glad to be proven wrong and have a few more Hackamore Brick fans come out of the woodwork.

Here's a good candidate. Yup, I like him.

Now I gotta go wash my hands for linking this.
