Meshuggah. Hands down, favorite band with harsh vocals. Wicked progressive and dissident. If you like heavy, I give to you the heaviest band ever

Excellent band. One of the first extreme CDs I bought was Catch-Thirtythree. But heaviest band? Ha, sure. Probably not in the top 10,000 heaviest.

Mike Patton is the one i like most among screamers, though he rarely scream. Crisis led by Karyn Crisis is another one i like. Melt Banana is another one( japanese noise rock). Opeth among growlers.

If we're talking about people who only occasionally get harsh, Black Francis is definetly #1 on my list. Pixies could have done an amazing black metal EP back in the day. It's a real shame they didn't.

Can't follow you down this path guys, I did play Meshugga's Obzen twice, but I can't get into the vocals at all.

The trick to getting into Meshuggah is to listen to the rhythmic brilliance in both the instruments and the vocals. The syncopation between the two are what got me into them in the first place.

"It's a rhythmic exercise"
