Naw your not a complete dumbass. :heheh:

But I still dont consider ZZ Top to be hard rock exclusively. They are first and foremost a southern rock band. I sure hope you're not confusing southern rock with country.........two totally different things.

ZZ Top is a hard rocking, Southern, blues INFLUENCED ...Heavily of course
rock band. Obviously, they play hard rock...blues influenced, southern, hard rock...

To try to say it's not hard rock just because it's heavily blues influenced and southern rock is a big :wtf: to me.

ZZ Top is guitar driven sure but like everyone said it is based on blues. barrelhouse and boogie riffs. Not feeling the "hard rock" classification. Music with a rough bite and not a two by four pummelling you on the head.

They're pretty darn close but like others have said I'd classify them first and foremost a southern rock band.

Tres Hombres is certainly hard rock, but the horrible stuff they recorded in the eighties, with synthesizers, was pop. I voted 'yes', but I haven't forgiven them.

I consider them Blues Rock as several others do. To be honest I don't really care what they classify under, I just like the music regardless.

I'd say no, but alot of their 70's output certainly has some great guitar driven stuff. Well, the original mixes anyway. Most casual listeners by the most part have only heard the lame remixed versions of their 70's tracks.
