In Urgent Need of Advice

Gotta be honest with all of you. I don't really keep track of which particular person (or people) writes material for various artists or their albums.
Especially when some bands choose not to acknowledge outside writers to save face or when they choose to give credit to band members in the group who don't write any material but the band prefers that everybody take credit for it.
Word is Jon Bon Jovi is pretty notorious for getting songs, song ideas and the like from outside sources who are not even in the band but when you read the album credits for his songs, it is just his name and perhaps Sambora.
Of course Jon is good at "working something out" with people like that, but fact is he has a lot of songs recorded that only him and Sambora received credit for even though other people were originally responsible. Granted those people got paid or compensated somewhere along the line, but it means it isn't a black and white affair where you can just take what you see in an album jacket/credits at face value.
Additionally, it is well known that Ozzy/Sharon Osbourne also have a pretty questionable history of giving people credit for their work in an album.
Then you have people like Gene Simmons who claims to give people credit for songs he wrote himself (and I believe that is true), especially up-and-coming artists who he mentors and chooses to help them climb the ladder. He also claims that he has given Ace Frehley and Peter Criss writing credits for numerous Kiss songs that they didn't contribute anything to just to allow them additional royalties and to keep them happy (and in the band), a statement which I personally believe to be true, given Gene's genuine talent for songwriting.
However, out of respect to Cosmic, I like:
-Nikki Sixx (chief writer for Motley Crue)
-Jani Lane (chief writer for Warrant)
-Alice Cooper
-Desmond Child (an outside songwriter)
-Izzy Stradlin (mostly responsible for the better songs by Guns N Roses)
-John Kay (Steppenwolf)
-Jim Steinman (Meatloaf)
-Gene Simmons (various)
-Dave Mustaine (Megadeth)
-John Lennon
