What would you label as the type of music that you listen to the most, enjoy the most, buy the most albums from, brag about to others, play as a musician, are very much drawn to at this time, dance to, sing along with, can't ever get enough of &, perhaps, would even go nuts if you didn't/couldn't have any of it? I listed 25 styles, showing the majority of popular ones, so yours has a good chance of being up there.:omg: Considering that, your style is almost sure to be here. Don't try to nitpick too much either saying that I should've put Black Metal, Death Metal, Speed Metal, Thrash Metal or any other specific type to each initial genre. If it's any kind of Metal, it's Metal, ya see?

Enjoy your voting opportunity & be proud of what you choose to post. You can even tell everyone here why you like the style so much or why you believe it's that great. Raise your flag & have fun with it.:cheers2 We'll see how things go.

Something between hard rock and heavy "metal" which I've heard others besides me call heavy rock. I think most of it came out between the mid 70's and early 80's and at one time many bands that fit it were called heavy "metal". It's that big "smokey" guitar sound that is metallic but not in the generic way and has a lot of heavy bass rhythm mixed in it. Certain bands come to mind like 70's rush, boston, ufo and so forth.

^ I'd probably consider that Hard Rock. Seeing that you like Metal & (of course) Rush, you are not necessarily full on into Metal, yet like something a little more than just plain old (&/or Classic) Rock. In my iPod I put together a genre mix labeled "Metal & Hard Rock." At the same time my iPod also has a genre mix labeled "Country & Folk", so different styles can often intertwine.

If I were in your situation, I'd vote for Hard Rock, but you can also consider these specific genres just incase...

1. Alt. Rock.
2. Classic Rock.
3. Metal.
4. Pop/Soft Rock?
5. Progressive Rock.
6. Other?

Vote as you see fit. Take my word or not. To each his own.:cheers2

I enjoy numerous sub genres of rock but even that doesn't compete with the metal collection I have. Big fan of metal.

I voted hard rock.

My tastes in music are very eclectic. One day I may listen to Country exclusively and the next day be on a binge of Helloween, Stratovarius, and Hammerfall.

Of course my #1 band is Aerosmith. So I decided Hard Rock would be the most appropriate vote for me.

So you still prefer Metal over Hard Rock? Even the really heavy, dark, fast, intricate stuff? Fine by me if so.

I mean the irony is AC/DC are rock and they are my favourite band of all time but I just went by what I tend to listen to more. Metal seems to have more stuff that interests me.
I do enjoy hard rock, I love old school rock also but metal does dominate my library especially the heavy, dark stuff.
