I played these records on the radio in Canada in 1984. I like hit songs that got on the radio. On the other hand, while I like the King Crimson album "Three Of A Perfect Pair" from that year, "Sleepless" didn't make it on the air, nor did David Gilmour's "About Face." "All Lovers Are Deranged" got on some FM stations, but not AM.
The Parachute Club - Dancing At The Feet Of The Moon
Van Halen - Jump, Panama, Hot For Teacher
Jane Siberry - Mimi On The Beach
Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer
Huey Lewis & The News - I Want A New Drug, The Heart Of Rock & Roll
Billy Joel - The Longest Time
Steve Perry - Oh Sherrie
Bruce Springsteen - Dancing In The Dark (and the 12" mixes, too) and "Pink Cadillac," its B-side
Billy Idol - Eyes Without A Face
The Dice - Chayla (you probably haven't heard this one)
Billy Squier - Rock Me Tonight (but not the video)
Kim Mitchell - All We Are
Julian Lennon - Valotte
Paul McCartney - No More Lonely Nights (and the 12" mixes, too)
The Honeydrippers - Rockin' At Midnight
U2 - Pride (In The Name Of Love)
Honeymoon Suite - New Girl Now
The first eight songs on Bryan Adams' "Cuts Like A Knife" were hit singles
Phil Collins & Philip Bailey - Easy Lover
Bruce Cockburn - If I Had A Rocket Launcher
John Fogerty - The Old Man Down The Road
And in 1984, I played "All Right Now," the song by Free, covered by Rod Stewart, in a disco version. Just once, though. Ugh!
