Wolfgang Van Halen has released a 10-second clip of a track from his upcoming debut solo album. Listen to the latest work by Eddie Van Halen’s son above.

It’s the second hint at what to expect from his upcoming solo effort, although the first teaser he released was less than a second long. He referred to the length in the Instagram post that contained the new clip, saying: “Here’s a sneak peak of the music I’ve been working on (that’s longer than half a second).”

Van Halen News Desk reported that Wolfgang is “doing it all” on the solo project, including vocals, guitars, drums, bass and keyboard. According to previous Instagram posts, he’s been using reel-to-reel tape equipment to record the album, which has no confirmed release date.

He joined Van Halen in 2006 at the age of 15, controversially replacing Michael Anthony, and took part in his first tour the following year. He played on 2012 album A Different Kind Of Truth and, that same year, joined Alter Bridge and Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti’s band Tremonti. He can be heard on the group’s 2015 album Cauterize and 2016 follow-up Dust.

In 2015 Eddie Van Halen confirmed his son was working on the solo project, describing the material as “AC/DC meets Van Halen meets aggressive pop” and adding that it was “important” music. He went on: “The riffs are catchy. It’s a little of everything and sounds like a freight train coming at you. I’ve never heard anything quite like it. It’s so powerful that I’m jealous.”
