UK radio station Planet Rock play Led Zeppelin 25% more often than The Rolling Stones, 30% more than The Who and 50 times more than The Beatles.

To be honest - if someone told me Led Zeppelin is underrated in the UK I'd say "that's bullshit".

It's simple really...their considerable fanbase love them and the music critics or journalists don't. Their popularity was built on touring and the albums alone not because so and so overly serious music snob at some stuffy magazine recommended them.

Seems, the US like them more, then the UK.

It's always been like that. If you dig in to the band's history you'll find out they always put the most to being popular in the US. They toured the most there. People even started to think they were an American band.

Could be...although there is another station that plays LOADS of Beatles and hardly any Zeppelin at all....but not a whole lot of hard rock in general anyway.
