I have a super-rare Sparks bootleg on vinyl, called "One and a Half Nelson" (their original band's name was Halfnelson). It was a collection of "live" songs dulled down a little to drown out audience noise, bootlegged, and pressed to vinyl around '74 or '75. If I ever had to part with it, I could potentially get at least 300$+ for it.

I also have a ton of CD bootlegs a friend and fellow Sparks fan made for me. And one I stumbled upon - a live concert at New York's Bottom Line venue in '76 - it's rollicking.

Apart from that I don't think I've collected any bootlegs from other bands. My love for other bands doesn't reach that far.

Just got a copy of Led Zeppelin - A Memory Frozen Forever (1980) It suppose to be John Bonham last show before his death.. havent heard it yet, but its suppose to be really good, in performance and recording.. have to wait and see...

Anybody has anything good that might be worthy of adding to the collection.?
Hello JuddB... More than likely the show at Berlin 7/7/80. It is a very good soundboard. There is also an excellent audience tape of it as well.

Im with LG on this one . I tend to avoid bootlegs....due to poor production and sound quality.
Never the less, only a few have crept into my record collection....
My favorite being a SISTERS OF MERCY bootleg album full of radio sessions.
It contains a version of Dolly Partons "Joleen ".......wicked ! THE SISTERS OF MERCY should have gone in to the studio and recorded it making a proper job....but it never happened.

I have hundreds of bootlegs... Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Yes, Rolling Stones, Jefferson Airplane, Beatles, Pink Floyd ... and many more legends.

Downloading 95% of the Woodstock performances in flac files took a full day.
Monterey Pop Festival, and Altamont Free Concert are complete shows.

I've been collecting for awhile... I've pared down my LP collection greatly which I rue presently but the CD's have become sizable. I'm fortunate enough to know people over the years who could get access to such titles...trades and all that. My obssession with Zeppelin makes me look back and wonder what in the world...but at the end of a day to me it was worth it.

^^^ The Led Zeppelin boots are hard to beat :)
The BBC sessions boot is a lot better than the official release.
The Belfast concert has a great set list but very poor sound,it was(as I'm sure you probably know)the bands 1st live performances of a lot of songs from the LZ IV album.
Black Sabbath in Paris is one of their best live performances, top stuff.

The Rolling Stones Unplugged is a must have if you're a big stones fan.
The Jethro Tull Carnegie Hall,Bob Dylan Carnegie Hall,Radiohead Lallopalooza,Porcupine Tree and the Jimi Hendrix 22 Disc Moonbeams And Fairytails are all perfect sound quality,I'd very highly recommend them.

Do you have a favourite Boot? I bet it's a Led Zeppelin one:heheh:

CREAM’d…

Off the top of me head, I really can’t name a particular one but here’s a small sampling:

The Beatles
The Complete BBC Sessions [12 CD]
The Complete Hollywood Bowl Concerts 1964 and 1965 [2 discs]
Live At Shea Stadium [2 CD + 1 DVD]

The Rolling Stones
Get Your Leeds Lungs Out – Leeds 1971
Philadelphia Special I and II – Philadelphia and Houston 1972 [4 discs]
Handsome Girls [4 CD] – 1978 U.S. Tour [from King Biscuit tapes]
Hampton ’81 [2 CD]

Aerosmith
King’s Chronicle [6 CD] – Chicago and Boston 1978, Boston 1980 and 1984 [2/14 and 12/31], Stockholm 1994
Donnington 1990 [with Page on "The Train Kept A-Rollin']

The Doors
The Complete Matrix Club Tapes [4 CD]

Led-Zeppelin [have nearly all of the soundboards out there but these are the main ones...]
Live On Blueberry Hill [2 CD] - Los Angeles 9/4/70
Studio Sessions [12 CD] - outtakes, rehearsals, rough mixes 1969-1980
Deep Throat [9 CD] - Los Angeles 3/24, 25, 27/75
Demand Unprecedented In The History Of Rock Music [22 CD] - London 5/18, 17, 23, 24, 25/75
For Badgeholders Only [18 CD] - Los Angeles 6/21, 22, 23, 25, 26, 27/77
Tour Over Europe 1980 [2 CD] - Zurich 6/29/80 [first CD bootleg I ever bought!]

That's from the major ones that immediately come to mind but I also have stuff from Queen, Hendrix, Deep Purple, Cream, Derek and The Dominoes, Clapton, Jeff Beck, Rainbow, Pink Floyd et all.

My collection is massive. Never paid a nickel for any of them. Began trading for them ten years ago. Some of the very best music in my collection are ROIO. I don't use the word bootleg because it's synonymous with buying them to me. I have audience shows that are spectacular in sound but prefer soundboards. The type of equipment available today in the right spot can make a super recording. I have dozens of recent audience shows that are really good. You can learn a tremendous amount from these recordings about a bands ability to play live. Sound quality is very important to me. Some shows I improve sonically for my own listening pleasure with great results. There's just too many in my collection that are great to list here. I give them as gifts occasionally to my friends and relatives.
