I've got it! Celine Dion!

Listen to her wailing at the end of this track:

My Heart Will Go On

Yes, she's the one to do justice to the "Immigrant Song"! Assuming of course that we ever need to hear the "Immigrant Song" again....

:heheh:

Hey! The fascists (Led Zeppelin management perhaps?) have removed from Youtube my favourite version of the "Immigrant Song" with the kittens.

:wtf:

Have to agree with Nobody, without Plant there is no Zeppelin. They have made their mark so I would hate to see them dilute their legacy by touring with a replacement singer.

Obviously, there is a certain anti - Zep faction here, as witnessed by the sarcastic nature of the op.

Who knows why Plant is uninterested. It may be his voice, but I am sure they could do something to pull off the job. He may also be interested in the new direction his career has taken, one that has him making FRESH music.

One thing I have always applauded Zeppelin for is how they have used the name of the band. They ended the band when Bonham died. They knew how key he was to the sound. When Plant and Page decided to make some new music, they billed the tour as what it was, Page and Plant. They could make a boatload of cash touring under the Zep name, and yet the haven't after nearly 30 years. I would hope Page has the sense to not ruin that name by touring as Zep with "some other guy" on vocals.

All Bullshit aside, there is no replacement that will ever sound like the original Led Zep. Even with Jason Bonham on drums, it still isn't Led Zep in my eyes.

I think Plant is doing the right thing in letting the original legend live on as a legacy. Hell, they all have other musical interests besided the name "Led Zeppelin".

Why tarnish the legacy with a reincarnation?

I'm innocent of this charge. I like Led Zeppelin.

...as witnessed by the sarcastic nature of the op.

I plead guilty. Sarcasm is an integral part of my being. Plus there's no sense in posting if you never offend anyone, now is there? And there are so many Led Zeppelin (and Beatles) fans out there that they're absolutely begging to be needled! It's just too much to resist.

:D

So anyway you don't think Celine's wailing is on par with Plant's then?

Of course I've always argued that Plant should have cut out the yips, yaps and howls and replaced them with harp. After all, he did a very nice job with the harp on "When the Levee Breaks". Why didn't he use it more often?
