I was in the car with my teenage son and this song came on the radio. It sounds just like a 70's song to me. But I asked him and it is by a group today called "Fun" Evidently they are really popular.

Here is the youtube video of them:

I love the video. You have to listen for a few minutes before it gets to the chorus and sounds like it. Someone in the comments suggested Queen but that just doesn't seem to fit.

Anyone have any suggestions. I woke up too early this morning with this song "going" in my head. LOL

Well, I'm not sure if you have checked out the Fun. thread yet but Queen has been mentioned several times in connection with this group. If you listen to a couple of the songs posted there the similarities become more evident. :)

This is the song that really sold me on the Queen influences:

Yea, with that Queen song you posted I see more of the Queen influence. Especially with the heavy rhythm of the drums in both the Fun song and that Queen song. Thanks I appreciate that. I had a long group of bands I have been listening too. I only listened to a few Queen song's and not that one.

Oh, on the subject of Queen--Did you see the video of the drunk guy in the back of the police car doing Bohemian Rhapsody.? It was so epic.

Here is the link:
msnbc.com Entertainment - Man belts out 'Bohemian Rhapsody' from back of cop car

I played about 5 min of them simultaneously and it is amazing how in sync he is!! LOL

To my ears there's a small hint of Fleetwood Mac (with Lindsey Buckingham singing) in the chorus.

I hear Tracey Chapman singing the verses.

I hear a tinge of Kevin Cronin (REO Speedwagon) in the chorus.

The chorus also reminds me of a song from the EdTV soundtrack, 'Been Hurt', by Muzzle
