At one time a few years back I also owned "Vapor Trails" but just didn't consider it of any worth, especially when comparing it to any of the albums above along with other classics.:wank:

Vapor Trails was incredibly mediocre compared to their best stuff but even on its own its production was absolutely garbage. Musically it had some great stuff but production was horrible.

Out of that list I picked Permanent Waves. But my favorite Rush album is Caress of Steel.

You can still tell that they're great musicians on that album, but it still doesn't come anywhere close to showcasing their amazing overall talent.

I'm pretty sure that's what he meant. I mean it is the only one called Rush.

I still can't believe that "Hold Your Fire" hasn't gotten anymore votes yet!:wtf:I mean, if it were not for that album, I'd probably put "Moving Pictures" up there, then "Permanent Waves" in 2nd. "Moving Pictures" (and maybe even "Rush") is where it all started for me, yet "Hold Your Fire" is where my love for Rush enhanced. "Hold Your Fire" is the only album that could be called somewhat "perfect" Rush for me. There are no bad, throwaway, useless, monotonous, repetitive, depressing, sloppy, waste of time (10-20 minute) songs on that album. Every other one that I listed of course isn't bad or a waste of time, yet they all contain at least 1 or 2 tracks on them that I don't believe "deserve" to be in/on my iPod or in/on any of its Playlists, ya know?:****:Every track off of "Hold Your Fire" is excellent & will always remain on my iPod & in its Playlists. Period! I just can't see how other true Rush fans never give it any credit or hold (no pun intended) it as highly as the other basic, popular, radio-friendly Rush albums. Do you guys just simply not have that album yet or only focus on the radio-friendly Rush albums? I just can't see the ignorance, ya see?:bonk:

Probably because a lot of people don't like Hold Your Fire and even if they did, compared to the other albums of course it wasn't going to get many votes.

It was their first album that didn't have a single song I love on it. A few are ok but nothing in the least bit great to me. I remember clearly when that one came out. It was the first time I completely lost hope that they would ever make another epic album.
