When Drummers Sing

[dr wu]

One of my favorite pop rock bands that never really made it......the lead singer played drums while standing ......both their lps are a must listen imho.

[Nai Noswad]

Willie giving those Vic Firths some stick..

Utopia - Princess.....

Don did less drumming in his solo career but still records drums on some of those tracks. For instance these:

[Xanadu2112]

Roger Taylor - Queen
The power of this guys range is phenomenal.
Obviously “I’m in Love with My Car” is his most well known, but There’s Loser in the End, Tenement Funster, Drowse, Fight from the Inside and more. Sadly I don’t think he performed any of the others live.

Peter Rivera was the drummer and lead singer of the American Classic Rock/R&B band, Rare Earth from 1968 to mid 1983, taking a hiatus from the band for a period of time in 1975-1976. From '69 to '71 the band entered the US charts five times with songs ranking from 4-19, and in the US R&B charts - during the same period - 3 times in the top 30. At least some of the band's success was based upon Rivera's notable drumming skills along with his soulful, gravelly vocal style.
