I would say Antonio Vivaldi and Frederic Chopin. Lots of rock and metal artists were influenced by Vivaldi, The Four Seasons being the most known composition by him. Chopin, just any Noctrune, so beautiful!
Nah, independently of the kind of music that you use to listen, if you want to get into classical music just go by the easy way: Mozart. He's the greatest one, a must-listen. Just listen some of his compositions, and then decide what kind of classical music do you prefer (chamber music, symphonic music), which are your favourite instruments (piano, strings...) and, in this way, you will build your own profile of 'classical music listener'.
Beetohven is another fantastic composer, his 5th, 7th and, particulary, 9th symphonies are great. And he has some really good piano sonatas (as Mozart does, too).
