Perhaps Jet or another member who is an experienced dog owner can help. Harry the two year old Jack Russell X I have adopted is a perfect little gentleman in the house. However, his hunting instinct takes over when we are out walking. I take him to a dog exercise beach every morning for a good run and where he chases seagulls for at least an hour. We walk through some lovely footpaths on the way there and there are open grassy areas with lots of clumps of bushes and trees. All he wants to do is chase rabbits and he pulls like a mad thing on the leash. I can't let him off as he would disappear after the rabbits and there are poisonous snakes in the bushy areas. I get so frustrated with his pulling and because he has bull terrier in him, he is a very strong little dog. My other dog just trots along like a real lady but Harry is no fun to take on a long walk. I can let him off the leash on the beach as all he is interested in is chasing seagulls and plunging into the sea after them Apart from his hunting prey instinct and his pulling he is a lovely little dog.
