I know this isn't for everyone but one of my online music peers shared this powerful, crushingly sad album written by a husband in the weeks after his wife died. It's written in the room she died in and with her instruments. It's as introspective, raw and vivid as an album can get with specific, detailed lyrics that will punch you in the gut. The thoughts in his head during her sickness (cancer) and the emptiness after her gone. Moving on with his daughter which brings that much more heartbreak. Guilt, anger, sadness, fond memories, desolation, cynicism.....This album has it all. It's cathartic and has some beautiful melodies but the vocals are as unpolished and plain as it gets. It's a document of feelings and it's one of the most relatable and cathartic things you'll hear if you understand the loss of a loved one.
