This old Steely Dan vinyl album, just finished checking it, side 1 is perfect, but alas side 2 has a few too many glitches for my liking. Going to trade it in or give it to one of my friend's second hand shops.
^^^ I much preferred the intro and outro Zeppelin-esque parts instead. Those kicked ass. The middle was mostly monotonous with that repetitive bass line and the accompanying symbol to go with it. If I'm not mistaken, the drummer was using the crash cymbol like it was the ride cymbol and it was just didn't sound good to me. Only thing I liked about the mid section was that guitar riff that was lifted from another song...can't remember which one but I've heard it before. If I was producing this record, first I'd go take that crash cymbol away from the drummer and then I'd convince the band to combine the intro and outro into 1 song and ditch the middle. 7.5/10
That's a great tune. I appreciate it now much more since I don't have to listen to my brother practice the vocals and bass line over and over again. He did it quite well but it got really played out for a while and I needed a serious break.
7/10
