My New Cd Purchases​

^^One of my all time fav hip hop albums and people on this board would probably even dig some of the songs.



^^^if you dont know tribe you would prolly love them



^^very influential album from the "God MC" I listened to this album and it is obvious how it has influenced my favorite rappers

^^Love Common and although this album is not nearly as amazing as Resurrection it is still on point

^^Nas second best album much weaker than the first but that is impossible to follow up being that it was perfect and immortal. (best track on this one is Preemo produced I Gave You Power)

^^How could I begin... Undisputedly the best hip hop album of all time. One day I woke up and said WHY DONT I OWN A PHYSICAL COPY!? this album literally brings you to the rough and rugged streets around the queensbridge housing projects on the 41st side on vernon in the early 90s. his worldplay...... his flow.... he wrote New York State of Mind on the spot in the studio and spit it in one take!!!!! He achieved this greatness, tapped into this supernatural frequency...he was only 19



^^tied with Liquid Swords as my favorite Wu solo album



^^Classic album that influenced my fav rapper of all time probably more than any other album

Peace Sells album. Next best behind Rust.

This release has been my favorite by Dave and the boys since I first heard it back in '86. I know a lot of people will put Rust or even Countdown higher, but this one was the first album of theirs that grabbed me. Still a bit raw compared to later works, but the overall output is outstanding from start to finish!

Devils Island. Love the opening particularly.

Great tune. I always liked S1 over S2, and this was a great closing track to the first side.

This release has been my favorite by Dave and the boys since I first heard it back in '86. I know a lot of people will put Rust or even Countdown higher, but this one was the first album of theirs that grabbed me. Still a bit raw compared to later works, but the overall output is outstanding from start to finish!



Great tune. I always liked S1 over S2, and this was a great closing track to the first side.

Countdown was good commercially but I will always stand by the view that the two Peaces albums are their crowning glory.

I like A Tribe Called Quest for the handful of tracks I heard but never purchased any albums. As for the Wu-Tang Clan I'm more into Ol' Dirty Bastard and a couple Ghostface Killah songs. My favorite albums you posted are The Chronic because that's a huge one I grew up with and The Fugees because I love rap that has soul in it and as much as I found Lauryn Hills solo career underwhelming and overrated she added that sweet soulful voice to Pras and Wyclefs raps.
