Not guilty.

So I read.
I'm disgusted.

Florida has the third largest death penalty in the country behind Texas and California.

The verdict was read about 45 minutes ago: not guilty of first degree murder, manslaughter and child abuse. Guilty of the lesser charges of basically lying to authorities, which carry a sentence of 4 years a piece which will most likely be served concurrently unless the judge decides to go hard on her and make them consecutive.

I'll remember not to kill anyone because lots of my life will be spent there.

I read that the child was believed to have accidentally drowned. Why wouldn't her mother come forward and say "someone please help me, my baby has drowned"??

Well, I wasn't there to hear all of the evidence and have only "sort" of watched it in the news, but this verdict seems pretty ****ed up to me.
