What can you tell me about this group?
Skagerack is a Danish heavy metal band formed in a small town named Kolding (pronounced; Kolling) in 1985. They released their first self-titled album in 1986 that was recorded in London and Copenhagen and had a big hit with the tune "I'm Alone". Their music is in the melodic heavy metal style. In same year they played at Reading Festival and The Marquee Club in England. In 1991 they got a grammy for their album "
A Slice of Heaven". They was best known in Denmark and other countries for their hits: "I'm Alone", "Anytime, Anywhere" and "Hungry for a Game". Although they made some great music, they never got the big breakthrough and was disbanded in 1991. In 1993 their frontman Torben Schmidt made a solo album with the title "Big Time"* under the Skagarack name but with some other bandmembers. In 2009 the band was rebanded with the original bandmembers to play once at Esbjerg 80's Rockfestival where also artists such as Foreigner, Europe, Rick Astley, Bananarama a.o. was in the spotlight at the event.
