I remember in 1979 seeing adds on TV for an upcoming Triumph concert at Cleveland Public Hall. Well, I don't remember much other than the claim of an outrageous number of runway lights and the TV screen exploding with Triumph logo. I still smile because the voice on the add had the vibe of upcoming drag racing promos; "Saturday, Saturday, Saturday...

I saw Triumph sans runway lights in 1980 sandwiched between Alice Cooper and Billy Squire. Nice memory...(as I've said before) from what I remember.

This current tour with opener April Wine is coming to Cleveland's big venue (20,000) but the upper bowl and behind the stage tix aren't being sold so it's probably more like a 6000 seater. I hate these venue re-configurations for bands not able to fill full seating capacity. Just looking around and seeing a half empty place seems to suck out some of the energy. Cutting the place in half with a curtain is not ideal but at least it doesn't feel half empty.

I won't be going to the November 25th show because it's the day before Thanksgiving plus it's four days after Cheap Trick and a week before The Bouncing Souls. Busy time of the year. I do enjoy that the Live Nation promo I received has a picture of Triumph from the early 80's. Bait and switch!

I guess it is cool for them that they get to have a final hoora after hating each other over the decades, but I saw a few clips and it's just not for me. Many reviews had people enjoying the show, and if it makes them happy, which in turn makes the band happy, then all is good.
