I have been mulling this over to repair an unfortunate mishap to a couple records. While traveling last summer a picked up a couple new copies of vinyl I came across about 700 miles from home. Upon getting home I pulled them out of the 5th wheel and found they were sandwiched and warped.

I have been mulling over this little Diddy over as a way to fix'em. its called Vinyl Flat and I have read some good things about the version that uses their electric "pouch".

Curious if anyone has used it ?

If you search an old thread here at CRF

The House of Wax

You will find methods used by some prestigious (and knowledgable) members.

Beware, that thread is like 200+ pages long but you CAN search just that thread once you have it open

I have used two 16x16 ceramic tiles with heavy weight on top to fix quite a few major warps, but this isn't always entirely successful. I have been googling the results/reviews of the Vinyl Flat on youtube. You may want to take a look there. I just can't help but be wary about using heat sources to correct the issue. I imagine low level heat (like being in a car on a hot summer day) would help reform them, but I imagine there is some point where the heat compromises the integrity of the grooves/record. I just am unfamiliar with where that grey area lies.

Hey Phil. I have similar concern and experience. I just cant bring myself to put them in the over. Noone realizes it but a typical cooking oven is a fairly inconsistent heat source. Alot of extreme temps.

Ill check up there, i have read some positive stuff using their "heat pouch" its a smaller electrical warming source.

Thanks for the info. I just keep looking at this brand new Iggy Pop American Ceasar 2 record set and keep sayin dayum
