The last 4 VENOM releases : Metal Black, Hell, Fallen Angels & From The Very Depths are seriously underrated and majorly overlooked and just outright brushed aside IMO .My personal belief regarding this situation is that Venom became an metal underground institution In their early carrer despite a lack of quality musicianship and even though the musical production of their early infamous catology was atrocious at best.

Therefore, nowadays they are penalized for having improved dramatically as players and having improved upon their production just as equally. This in VENOMs case is the underground equivalent of " selling out" ..... I find this attitude to be laughably ridiculous !!!

As Cronos once said in response to fans complaints about the improved production on their later work.... " put your head underwater and listen to the new Venom if you like crappy production so much" lol .... that to me says all there is to say.

Yeah I laugh at people who use selling out as an easy term based on a band wanting to do something different even if its not all that different.

Yeah, I just don't get what the hate for modern Venom is all about.... it not like they weren't playing dirty murky thrashy noise / punk metal from their inspection. I really like their newest stuff ...thinks Its pretty ****ing awesome myself. Sure, its a bit over the top bordering on Satanic ridiculousness. ... but that has always been their stick

Personally, if the early stuff was as well executed as the newer era material is and it had the same level of quality production Venom would be in my All Time Top 25 Metal acts list.

Earlier stuff for me will always be their best material especially Black Metal but I also enjoy Resurrection of their newer material too just as much.

The old stuff is kick ass for the most part but the production is just horrific and gets real old
pretty quickly for me nowadays.

Presonally I really never bother with others opinions. VENOM started out being a band that could barely play and had some of the worst productions EVER... Yet were popular in the underground sense. Now they have improved in those areas greatly and are not ....

Just saying it's a bit ironic..

But Its not like it matters to me what bands others like. Critics, reviews are thingsI never listen to.
In the end it's just someones opinion.

So I guess it was a shock that I agree Venom's latter work are pretty damn good. lol
My favourite of their latter stuff is Resurrection.
