Van Halen won’t appear at next year’s Superbowl despite polling over 100,000 of the 150,000 votes cast in a public vote. Instead, pop star Beyonce will make a second appearance. Frontman David Lee Roth recently said: “The honour has not been bestowed up on us, though it’s one we would accept in a New York minute. It is a holy grail of musical recognition. It’s an honour to be considered.”

Wouldn't matter if VH did get picked I don't watch the halftime show and it wouldn't matter if "God" was playing the set.:grinthumb

Beyonce...not terrible but she does nothing for me musically and VH is a much better fit for football by a wide margin.

Oh yeah, Van Halen would be a WAY better fit. Though even if they got picked do you think they'd actually play? They've canceled practically every show they planed for this year.

^^I know, and that is troubling, but when Eddie went in for surgery then I sort of understood what was happening and gave them another chance. Last one though, once he has a clean bill of health any more drama and I'm going to ignore them for perpetuity.;)

Pfft.

What the heck is wrong with a couple of marching bands?

Marching bands? That makes for an interesting trivia question: When was the last time a marching band performed at the halftime of an NFL game?

I love marching bands music. We live close enough to the high school to listen from the back patio.

Marching bands stopped performing at the Super Bowl back in the early 90s, then they started bringing the big names in like Michael Jackson and NKOTB (who were huge at that time).

No way in hell could VH be reliable enough to be booked for the halftime show, and I'm sure those who run it wouldn't want to risk it.
