Imo, Michael Anthony was a huge part of the earlier VH successes. I don't believe that I'll be too interested with the newest album to the point of wanting to buy it, neither. I certainly will want to check out many of the songs, and although Wolfie may well be very talented and also an excellent bass player, Michael Anthony is an essential part of the appeal of the music, songs and performances, probably more so with the other three original members, too, imo! Michael Anthony was one of the better bass players that I've experienced in concert, which I greatly enjoyed and he's consistent, reliable, innovative and a great performer! I'd like to see him return to VH, with Eddie, Alex and DLR, but maybe Michael is content with doing what he is doing now. :dunno:

Biggest problem for me with Wolfie is his age and his complete lack of experience or pedigree in the biz. Growing up around it is a little overrated.

We have a Jason Bonham thread up for example. Least that cat got out, learned the drums, started a band and made a career for himself. Same thing with Kelly Osbourne or even Julian Lennon. Least they went out and tried to build a career for themselves.

Meanwhile, we have to accept some little twerp with no music background into Van Halen, just because he happens to be related to a couple of the members.

Maybe the smartest thing for VH to do is to either paste Michael Anthony's head onto Wolfgang's body in all of the album jacket photos or better yet, just photoshop in an old photo of Michael Anthony from sometimes in the 90's, having "him" standing next to the other guys and put it right on top of Wolfgang's picture in the booklet(s).

Then give him some songwriting credits and credit him as the bass player on the album in hopes fewer people will notice Wolfgang is really in Van Halen.
