Van Canto are a decent German A Capella group, consisting of five vocalists and a drummer. Can't remember how I discovered these guys (most likely while searching some blanket term like "A Capella" on youtube") but they made my yourube favorites list and I've just sort of rediscovered them.
They call themselves "Hero Metal," and their sound certainly fits the description... Many (read: all) of their original songs are unmistakeably epic fantasy themed. Listen for yourselves!
This is the first Van Canto track I ever heard. I was hooked almost instantly, and have been rehooked upon a newer listen.
A little mellower, a bit more pointed perhaps... Definitely worth a listen.
And, as a Nightwish Fanboy, I could not possibly leave this one out;
