Re: Uriah Heep

I've now given the album "Sea Of Light" a few spins, and this track is really standing out for me:

Fantastic! :cheers2

Re: Uriah Heep

The new album is excellent indeed. A bit of a 70s feel to it with a modern twist.

Hoping for a tour - always good to see them live.

^^ They are now touring, but seems they prefer America and Germany than UK...

Mick's solo is so good on this song... and that demonic Hammond organ...

Some great responses here to the new album and yes, "Sea Of Light" is a great album, this is one of my faves from that album...

MP Edit: Video removed from youtube

They do seem to play abroad more but I have seen them many times in the UK and they are top banana :)

DaKillerWolf mentioned that he doesn't care for the band after they moved on when David Byron died.

I've never listened to their later album since I assumed they wouldn't be as enjoyable.

Is anyone else a fan of later era Uriah Heep? Are there any albums I should actually take notice of?

Re: Uriah Heep

Later stuff with John Lawton is not as good as with Byron, but Fallen Angel (album) is impressive. Still Lawton has a powerful voice. Also some songs from Innocent Victim are good, Free 'n' Easy is an example.

In the 80s it was not a good era for the Heeps, Equator is the only good album, but then again it's below of Ken Hensley era.

Poor Little Rich Girl

But you can (or even must) try Wake The Sleeper album from 2008. That's about to be heavier than 70s.

Re: Uriah Heep

Just as I did for Electric Light Orchestra, i've gotten into Uriah Heep by picking up a few albums that are fairly separated in years before I pick up more. Here's what I have so far:
