I was taken to a party in 1981 to my friend's family home, where they had relatives and friends over. Someone had a 12-string guitar. So with 12 years of guitar playing, I sat down at the kitchen table and played one song after another and drank beer. I don't remember much, but I did a fairly pleasing rendition of "Walk Right In" by The Rooftop Singers, which I'd never played on 12-string before. I remember someone said to me, "You've been playing the guitar for four hours now, and you haven't played the same song twice." Well, after 12 years, you know enough chords that you can play thousands of songs, if you remember how they go. I've never performed drunk in public, though one time I won a talent contest at a bar while on acid. That was with the same friend as above.
