Top 3 albums of 2014 - YOUR TAKE!

Several members have posted their best of 2014 lists in various formats, but how about a simple album top 3!

2014 was a good year for music with lots of great releases. Doing a top 10 would be damn near impossible for me due to too many candidates, but a top 3 was relatively easy to pick.

The following are my 3 favourite albums of 2014:

Blackberry Smoke - Leave a Scar, Live: North Carolina*
Hurray for the Riff Raff - Small Town Heroes
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Hypnotic Eye

*Yes, this is a live album and I know that some people do not accept live albums in year-end lists, but this is my thread, so I make the rules.

Looking forward to YOUR lists, but please stick to a top 3 - no cheating. These lists are not binding, if you change your mind later on, it's no big deal. If you can only name 2, then name 2 and if you did not like any new music in 2014, then you can complain about that somewhere else!

2) Black Stone Cherry - Magic Mountain

Those two are the tops in my book. I really don't have a clear-cut top 3 (unless I"m forgetting something).

I have only heard a few songs off of Slash's World on Fire album, but not enough to list it. I do like what I have heard but haven't picked it up yet.

I loved the Kanye, Rihanna and Paul McCartney performance at the Grammys! That songs been embedded in my head since I've heard it! Great collaboration between talents!



As far as my favorite three albums it's hard to narrow down but I'd say

Meg Myers-Make A Shadow EP

So hard to pick!
