All the albums by the Pine Box Boys from 2006 - 2016 camp under an umbrella of novelty bluegrass for me. Lots of top shelf musicianship but under the premise of novelty schtick with creepy or comedic being a priority. It's fun music but not a big target audience. That career choice took a twist in 2024 with the release of Kung Fu Wolfman vs, The Blob. The twist has nothing to do with creepy or comedic because that's still there. It has to do with some kick ass electric guitar and cool ass horns that give an overall vibe of Vincent Price meets Pink Floyd partying with their cousins at the hoedown. Certainly worth a spin at Halloween or during a mid July heatwave.
