The String Cheese Incident (SCI) is a jam band from Crested Butte and Telluride, Colorado formed in 1993. The band is composed of Michael Kang (acoustic/electric mandolin, electric guitar, and violin), Michael Travis (drums and percussion), Bill Nershi (acoustic guitar, lap steel guitar, and electric slide guitar), Kyle Hollingsworth (piano, organ, Rhodes, and accordion), and Keith Moseley (bass guitar), and, in 2006, Jason Hann, an auxiliary percussionist. The origin of the band's name is unknown.

Their music has elements of bluegrass sounds, as well as rock, calypso, country, funk, jazz, Latin, reggae, and occasional psychedelia. All members write original compositions and share vocal duties. Nershi has written the bulk of the group's original songs.

Re: On The Road

They sound like an interesting band to me Garrett,,,not the best most inspired choice for a band name though.:heheh:

I usually prefer a studio album when checking out a new band, any you would recommend as their best? Or do you think this one is a good place to start?

Good review, and nice to see you settling in here.

Re: On The Road

Thank you!

Studio album? "Round the Wheel".

"On The Road", has a real clean sound and these guys are at their best performing live. I`m lightening to it right now.
