The pot has bin' well stirred concerning Goats Head Soup!
Lookin' forward to the Glimmer Twins throwing their nose over It's Only Rock n Roll. The last album from the every year batch...gaps of two years and longer..began to emerge. This album had a last minute cover change...which is a shame, 'cause this and Dirty Work and No Security are decidedly shit!
Some great Musicland Munich tracks were cut around this time-

Shame old Brian never got the real credit due to him for his mellotron work on this song..even with the 'studio delay' ..Brian nailed it.
Nicky Hopkins earned his stripes here..and that rumbling keyboard work is typical of him.
John and Paul appear...Brian returned the favour from the Baby You're A Rich Man session.

    We Love You.

The song It's Only Rock & Roll (but I like it) was that not a Ronnie Wood song originally that Ronnie played to the Glimmer twins in Ronnie's house?.

Well spotted E-Z...yes...Ron had a cracking studio at the Wick...kitted out...64 track i think.
Ron and Ian McClagan had been working on It's Only Rock'n'Roll..Keith chimed in..he loved the riff. Then Mick got a whisper...and it's all musical fuckin' chairs- Ron gets I Can Feel The Fire...and Rock 'n' Roll heads off to Munich -where presumably Keith does 6 squillion overdubs..buries Bowie's bits..and charlie sounds like he's tapping coffee cups from Maccy D's.
The most awful mixdown ever..the alternative mix by Harwood and Musicland Studios is a lot crisper.
Seems no one questioned Mr Unhealth at that time...especially after giving Managers & Producers the old heave ho!

I managed to obtain a cd copy of JAMMING WITH EDWARD https://ring.cdandlp.com/longplay/photo_grande/114761929.jpg I did have it on cd once before around 10 years ago and features Mick, Bill & Charlie along with Ry Cooder on electric guitar & bottleneck slide guitar & Nicky Hopkins on piano and was recorded in London in late 1969. The recording was originally released on the Rolling Stones own record label back in around 1972 and as Mick says in the original limited sleeve note that they were selling it for around £2 ($2) as it isn't worth much more than that plus it was just a late night jam session that was promptly forgotten about.

very true E-Z..and Keith slammed it at the time...he'd had words over certain songs with Ry.
The album was kicking around the 50p bins for ages...this album was more credible though.
