Van Halen may have bit off more than they can chew, and they know it. The veteran rockers made headlines earlier this year when they postponed 31 North American tour dates, and now those dates have been canceled.

At the time, David Lee Roth posted a video update stating that there was no recurrence of past tensions in the band but rather realizing they couldn’t keep up the extensive touring pace.

Though the group went ahead and booked a tour of Japan later in the year after the postponement announcement, they’ve now decided to give themselves a bit of a break before returning to the road. Pollstar.com reports that fans with tickets for any shows scheduled after June 28 will be offered a full refund. Cities affected by the cancellations include Uncasville, Baltimore, Rochester, Detroit, Toledo, Memphis, Sacramento, Reno, and Milwaukee.

Starting to sound like a soap opera, the next installment could be the band going into hiatus indefinitely, followed by Dave leaving again.

One thing that I can say, is that The Scorpions, Iron Maiden and other older bands have managed to fulfill their tour obligations, they are all about the same vintage as VH.

Yup, don't want to speculate but something could be going on behind the scenes. Maiden's heavy touring is a good point. You don't see those bands backing out of already booked tours like that.

This could be the "Contact C" approach to spread out the bad news over a few weeks, perhaps to give their good friend and VH alumni less ammunition to crow about.;)

Oh and MP, Maiden is coming back here again, saw an ad on the TV last night so they must love the fans in this part of the world.:hb:

Very cool!!! :grinthumb

As far as Van Halen, if something was going on, wouldn't it be funny if Sammy did indeed return with Mike one day??

:heheh:

I don't know what to think of this.. Eddie's track record has really stuck out and it's not hard to think he didn't have something to do with this.
Maybe he owed back taxes and he was making too much money and they were going to take it all away from him..:heheh:

Hey.. It happened to Zeppelin and they had to move out of the country to avoid being taxed to death..
Well.. I do enjoy the new CD.. But this is rather embarrassing since other bands with just as much stage time and age are still making it work..
