Five For Fighting, the hockey coined alias for talented songwriter Joan Ondrasik, may be known for sugary radio ballads but the songwriter goes stretches beyond what most people would think. Stretched beyond "Superman" and "100 Years" are songs that are a little more raw and some that are just bizarre in a good way. Joan is a underrated singer songwriter and talented pianist that I think will be an enduring songwriter for many decades.

These are some highlights for me! I think this artist gets lumped into certain categories unfairly when he's truly a master of his craft. If he ever stops making albums he'd be the perfect go to songwriter for other artist!

The minute I saw the title of this thread, "100 Years" popped into my head, instantly. I know it's probably one of the more well known songs from this band, but it's such an emotionally rich song, it's almost impossible not to bring it up. Vocals and the lyrics are both phenomenal.

I had a feeling you did And I know what you mean, i'm sure if people haven't heard this singer before, they are going to fall in love with him almost instantly

If they only know Superman I understand the stigma. I still think that's a good song but even I tired of it and can admit it's schmaltzy and cheesy! Have you heard Jainy before?

Honestly, the song sounds familiar when I hear it, I may actually look to get all the albums now that I see this thread as well. That's what always happens too! I'll see an artist thread for an artist I used to listen to, than I realize I have none of their albums!
