Green Lung.
A British hard rock / stoner band.
This Heathen Land was released November 3, 2023

This album reminds me of Ghost with some Black Sabbath & Rainbow vibes. I definitely wouldn’t call this album “stoner” but it does drip with some progressive goodness..

great guitar work, very melodic..and relaxing.

Hard Rock / Rock from Sweden. Their 8th album, Revelation, was released February 24, 2023.

this album is bluesy, with outstanding vocals (female), both acoustic & electric guitars, and hauntingly fantastic organ.

Triumpher.
A Greek power metal / epic metal band. This is their debut album, Storming The Walls.
I put this album in my top 15 (posted above) for 2023. It is a really good album. Sure it’s power metal but it’s not filled with early nostalgia for the genre. It is packed with soaring vocals, and is the type of epic metal that is grounded in aggression for the battle….

This is worth repeating for a further look & listen!

A heavy psych / proto metal band from Los Angeles. Their 3rd album, Thrones, released October 13, 2023 is a heavy smoker….pun intended!

Reminds me of Baroness with strong Thin Lizzy influences. @Nai Noswad and @Mr Mojo Risin will appreciate this one.

Coming out tomorrow, January 12th, from 80’s heavy metal band The Rods from the USA, their 9th album, Rattle the Cage.

The Rods never made it “big” like some of their opponents, but they sure came out ready for battle and are just as formidable as some of their NWOBHM peers.

For those that are curious, The Rods was founded and is led by none other than David “Rock” Feinstein….cousin to Ronnie James Dio. Rock played in Elf!

Outstanding, considering Rock is now 76 years old. This album has bite…..8.5 /10

Heavy Metal / Power Metal from the suburbs of Seattle. They have been around since the 80’s…breaking up & reforming several times over the years. They are in the same league as Crimson Glory, Warrior & Primal Fear.

They released their 4th album, When Angels Kill, June 16, 2023.



This is an epic double album with grit and balls!
