try and take a step back and view all songs as an observer.
i think a person can appreciate a great classic rock song even if they don't actually like the tune itself.

so its the tracks that people 30 yrs from now would think of as the greatest.

O.K., I'll bite! I know Bill is technically a Soul singer but I keep him right up there with my favorite Classic Rock musicians! He was a great writer, a solid musician and had a presence that only a legend like him can carry! This song isn't traditionally what he's mentioned for but it's great! A song that takes it's time to tell a story musically and has Blues, Soul, Gospel and Rock all mixed in one package!
