GOODBYE INXS?:
It seems Inxs have signed off permanently after playing the last of their Australian tour shows with Matchbox Twenty in Perth. The band apparently stated that it was their final show and they were going separate ways. Stay tuned for more details...

I'm a massive INXS fan I have all their albums from their first to the last one that they made with Michael. I wasn't happy that they were singing with John Mayer, Rob Thomas and the other people I believe this band should of ended after the tragic passing of Michael. So I can't say I'm too upset about it ending now.

Agree with above comments. And the last decent album they did with Michael H was "Welcome To Wherever You Are....released some 20 years ago in 1992. That's a long, long fade away!

It's hard for a band to carry on after such a charismatic front man dies. Maybe they should have disappeared for a while, revamped their sound and changed the band's name (unless they're planning on doing that now). There is still a lot of talent and depth there. I really enjoyed their music, and hope there is more to come. With some bands, I'd actually forgo live performances/touring, just to keep getting a steady flow of new music.

I recently caught their live 1991 Wembley Stadium Concert on VH1, and it looked like they were one kick-ass live band. :) Wish I could have seen them back then (kind of got into them late). I may just be putting this DVD on my Christmas list.

I did run across this old MTV article from 1997, Hutchence Leaves Large Collection Of Unreleased INXS Music. If there is so much unreleased great music, I wonder why it's never seen the light of day. Unless the band didn't want to seem like it was milking Hutchence's death. Though at 15 years on, I think that the mourning period is over, and it's time for a career capping box-set.

Another fine band bows out.

INXS (with Hutchence) definitely qualify as one of those bands that I never saw live, but who I really REALLY wished that I had, and there aren't very many of those. So though I missed out on seeing Hutchence do his thing in person, that Live Baby Live DVD that EJD mentioned here, and that I have, is just pure bad ass! It's like going to a 101 class how to be a front man rock star, Hutchence was that good.... Wembley Stadium packed full, singing every word. Awesome. My favourite track from that set is definitely 'What you Need'...
