The Electric Indian are a late 60s based Instrumental group best remembered for "Keem-O-Sabe" which became a popular tune in 1969. They also had a minor hit (#95) with their version of "Heard it through the Grapevine". Until today I only knew "Keem-O-Sabe" though after listening to a couple of their songs they have a sense of Soul in their music. But it can easily well be Easy Listening too! :D

"Keem-O-Sabe" is clearly my favourite song of theirs and it's perhaps the best I've ever heard with an excellent Xylophone solo - so if anyone wants to learn Xylophone that's the song to practice! :D I've heard some other wonderful songs with a Xylophone in them, but to me they always seem to be an instrument which isn't played like an instrument within them - by that I mean their only added here or there for effect and never played like a proper keyboard - which is what "Keem-O-Sabe" does! :D

Anyway here's some songs!

Intersting Band. Might have to track there albums down

From what I can see they only had one original Studio album "The ‎– Keem-O-Sabe" which was released in 1969, this is the tracks from that album:

1. Keem-O-Sabe
2. I Heard It Through The Grapevine
3. Spinning Wheel
4. Storm Warning
5. Rain Dance
6. Geronimo
7. Only The Strong Survive
8. My Cherie Amour
9. What Does It Take To Win Your Love
10. 1-2-3

There were additional Singles & EPs which came out but not many, this site lists them along with the album.

I'm unsure now if "I Heard it through the Grapevine" was a minor hit for this group or not because now "The Electric Indian" Wikipedia page is now suggesting it was "Land of a 1000 Dances" which was another single for this group. Do wish they get their facts right.
