I've got a 10 year old daughter who's learning the guitar. One of her favourite songs is Fleetwood Mac's The Chain. She wants to have a go at playing the well-known bass part/line that comes before the guitar solo.

Is it possible to play this on a 6-string acoustic? Please can anyone point us in the right direction for tabs or videos of how to play it, but not for a 4-string bass? Simpler the better!

Thanks, anticipation of your replies.

The lowest 4 strings of the guitar are the same as the 4 strings of the bass ( E,A,D,G from low to high) - one octave higher then the bass. The riff from "The Chain" starts on open A.

Thank you Garrett. And thank you Runtfan for the explanation - I'm not at all musical and don't play any instruments so I wouldn't have known that. Not sure if my daughter would know it either.
