There were quite a few bands that signed to Warners, but never really made it. Little Feat was one, there was also Bonaroo. I'm not sure if Graham Central Station would be considered as making it. Montrose seem to be popular in retrospect, but of course The Doobie Brothers made it in the US. A lot of bands in this thread weren't commercial, certainly not for the UK market.

The Let It Roll album (1988), without Lowell George, is pretty good.

^^I like Starz myself, Attention Shoppers! is one of the best sounding CD's I have in the collection.:D

Another band that "almost" made it to the top, Little Feat. I am dumbfounded when I listen to their albums why they never became bigger, easily as talented as Steely Dan, plus they actually Toured and released one of the best and most unheralded live albums ever, "Waiting for Columbus". After Lowell George left and his drug addiction claimed his life too early I lost track of them, but according to fans in the forum they carried on and were a top notch live band, but never on the Big Stage.

I have two of the albums Little Feat made when Craig Fuller of Pure Prairie League joine on lead vocals and I thought they were pretty good.Hate to lose your loving' made it to number 1 on the Mainstream Rock chart.i lost track of them when Fuller left and Shaun Murphy took over on lead vocals, but she is gone now and sang backup for Seger on his last tour

CLASIKROKR lives up to his name by mentioning the 2 most greatest and underated rock bands of all time ANGEL and STARZ !!! ..........Of course Im in TOTAL agreement :cheers2

Thanks LOU/REALM, Angel, found by Gene Simmons of KISS were thought to be "The NEXT BIG BAND". I had the albums, or 8-tracks Helluva Band, On Earth As It Is In Heaven, and White Hot.

Starz, I found myself through the "Music club" BMG, I forgot to send back my "don't send" order, and they sent me Attention Shoppers, loved it and later got Coliseum Rock, and downloaded their first two albums!

Lou, and LG, CHECK OUT THIS LITTLE SITE, I use the same name there, It's a neat place and members of Starz and Angel post now and again.

^ It's a tragedy that Pat Travers did not make it. I loved his unorthodox style. Whereas many hard rock guitarists took their cue from Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page, Pat Travers doesn't sound like anyone else. Makin' Magic is a true lost classic.

Frank Marino's early Mahogany Rush material was compared with Jimi Hendrix, mainly because of his own silly claims to be a reincarnation. They are really good and the slightly later Juggernaut solo album (but really Mahogany Rush by another name) is another overlooked gem. Am I alone, but I don't care much for his more recent work?

In a parallel universe, Robin Trower did make it.

I was thinking of you when I mentioned some folks in here rated Little Feat worth checking out post Lowell George Fever.

And Martin, Pat Travers is great, I have 5 of his albums but alas he never did make the major breakthrough he deserved.

There are a number of outstanding Canadian bands that should've been internationally successful: Pat Travers Band, Saga & Rob Moratti and Max Webster, to name a few.
