krautrock? Is that slang for German Rock and/or Roll?
Ya, somewhat, but it can include other countries as well like the Netherlands, Switzerland, and other western European countries. It's more avant-garde/experimental rock with emphasis on psychedelia, spacey electronics and hypnotic beats. Late '60's through to the late '70's was it's hieght.
Basically Germany's answer to the psychedelia but pushed the envelope further. An acquired taste for the most part. It's out there.
