You think you now music? You think you're all pensive and experienced? You wonder if there is anything out there as weird and wonderful as you?

The Slider. Listen to the album. Shhhh, don't say anything. Not yet. Listen to it again.

The Slider - 1972 You owe it to yourself.

This album is a classic.....I remember Joe told us to mark this album on CRF a few years back . I gave it a 10 out of 10 which I still stand by . Bolans best work IMO

....Even my kitten on my profile pic is wearing a Bolanesque top hat !

My Aunt gave me her copy when I was a kid, 12-ish. I was instantly enamored and consider it one of the best albums ever. I think it's his best work, too.

"with my Les Paul I know I'm small but I enjoy living anyway..."
AYFKM? Spaceball Ricochet, the lyrics of that song moved and changed me forever. It was like he was channeling 13 year old me. lol./

"Spaceball Ricochet"

I'm just a man
I understand the wind
And all the things
That make the children cry
With my Les Paul
I know I'm small
But I enjoy living
Anyway

Book after book
I get hooked
Everytime the writer
Talks me like a friend
What can I do
We just live in a zoo
All I do is play
The spaceball ricochet

Deep in my heart
There's a house
That can hold
Just about all of you(se)
I bought a car
It was old but kind
I gave it my mind
And it disappeared

I love a girl
She is a changeless angel
She's a city it's a pity
That I'm like me, yeeeah
I said how can I lay
When all I do is play
The spaceball ricochet

Great song . Never easy to cover a Bolan classic...but I thought these guys from the 80s did well with "Spaceball ricochet".

Here it is sometime during 1978... Listening to my favorites...Kiss, Stones, Aerosmith, Nugent, AC/DC, Alice Cooper...etc. My friend calls me up because his sister got a new stereo so I go over to his house. He said the stereo came with an 8 track...The Slider! All I knew by T Rex was Get it on Bang a Gong. He played the 8 track & both of us thought it was weird & didn't care for it. 10 years later I bought a used vinyl version of it and I got it!! This is a great album with great tunes. I love Metal Guru, Telegram Sam, Buick MacKane...ahhhh I guess all of them but especially Buick!!!

Like early T-Rex. Mambo Sun and Rip OFF are good from the first, Electric Warrior.
TanX isn't bad either. S L I D E R is a classic. Right now a reveling in old 70's
stuff... TYA's A Space In Time at the moment. It's all good...
