When Stevie played the music just flowed through him. He didn't just stand up there & play & sing. My favorite blues guitarist of all time.

Stevie died 31 years ago today.

I remember hearing on my way home from work, and I had to pull over.

Man, I miss that guy.

I recall Eric Clapton saying a similar thing when he was talking about SRV about a decade or more ago and his reaction when he first heard the guitar playing on David Bowie's Let's Dance single on a car radio whereby Eric said he was driving a car somewhere in the USA and Bowie's Lets Dance came over the car radio and he said he had to pullover and stop and listen to the guitar with Eric going on to say that he had to find out who the guitar player was at that moment in time something that had never happened before to him.
