Whatever. Now I understand why this forum gets so little traffic.

If you want to make up your own rules, I suggest that you start your own add list.

As a neutral observer, I believe songs should belong in the year of it's single release. I usually actually place them in the year that it peaked on billboard in the US but everyone is different. So If a song was released in say, December of 1984 but peaked at #3 in March of 1985, I place them in 1985. If it wasn't released as a single however, I place them in the year the album was released. But that's just me.
