As I said for all the lists we've done for albums and songs (over 20 of them) we go by release year. Those songs have been on the lists already and no sense to have them appear twice. It would lead to every song released in November and December appearing on 2 lists and I think that should be avoided. There's plenty of other songs to to fill the list up

This is an old argument that happens all the time. Truth is, both main arguments have flaws. The release year argument? According to which source? The chart peak argument? According to which chart? And both arguments require the poster to do research before making an entry.

So I leave it up to the posters to work things out. The only rule is please don't erase other members posts, it tends to piss them off. Just let them know why you object and if they agree, they might replace the song with a different one. The exception being, if there is a duplicate entry on the same list and the poster fails to remove the song after being informed of the error. Duplicates from prior lists are not good, but you can't require posters to read the old lists before posting. Again, just inform them of the duplicate post and let them decide whether to replace the song or not. If you don't like an entry, delete it from the strip list. It's just a game to have fun and not a battle.
