Personally I'd go for George. His album 'All Things Must Pass' was the first solo album by any of The Beatles, and for me the best. That album was an out-pouring of a stifled artist. As he grew as a musician through the '60s he was continually knocked back by the whole Lennon/McCartney thing. He stored a lot of material and we all heard it on 'All Things Must Pass'.
