Soda Stereo. They are usually hailed as the best Latin American rock group. They later evolved into an Alternative rock outfit, but in their early years they were very much influenced by new wave acts like The Police, Talking Heads, and Peter Gabriel. Anyone who likes stuff like the Police (and I love the police) should check em out, even if you don't speak Spanish, they are still instrumentally adequate.
