RIP Ms Faithfull.
I'm sure many of us were aware of her hit 'As Tears Go By' ...written by Jagger/ Richards
She cowrote 'Sister Morphine' with Jagger and did end up getting royalites and credit after some legal issues.
I have several later lps like 'Broken English', Dangerous Acquaintances', Strange WEather....also have a cd compilation of her songs called Faithfull:A Collection.
I highly recommend "Broken English' and the cd collection.

The lands of Marshall Stack.
....I'm equally as guilty of associating her connection with the Stones, rather than the loss itself.
We are all armchair vultures-
it was her drop dead gorgeous figure, those saucer 'bambi esque 'eyes, that husky voice that we could not ignore..nor could the pop socialites of 1960s London.
A very well read woman, who's knowledge of mid-europe religion and occultism no doubt inspired Mr.Jagger.
Indeed her bedside reading inspired Sympathy For The Devil,Let It Bleed and Factory Girl.
Sadly most folks who knocked about with Mick & Keith got burnt,Michael Cooper, Robert Fraser,Brian Jones,Gram Parsons,Suki Poitier, Keith Harwood, Jimmy Miller...and countless others. Not many could equal Keefs gypsy life and resilience style.
Not wishing to speak ill of the dead- I never truly valued her as a musician or singing artist. Her sprawling lifestyle and addictions merely added layers to her persona.
But there were credible moments ,which are mentioned already in tributes here.
I will always remember her beauty and her soul.....and for lighting that spark on Beggar's Banquet.

RIP: and hope Anita Pallenberg and you are chuckling.
This seems apt.

Something Better.
